1cup pickle slices (I use Vlasic oval hamburger dill chips)
1cup all-purpose flour, divided
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup beer (can use milk or buttermilk if you don’t use alcohol)
salt to taste
- Whisk together 1/2 cup of the flour, baking powder, black pepper, cayenne. egg and beer. Put the other 1/2 cup flour in another bowl. Dip pickles slices in the egg batter and then in the dry flour. Have about 1/4 to 1/2 inch oil hot in your skillet. Cook about 1 minute on each side, remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle on salt to taste. This makes about 20 to 25 fried pickles. Enjoy!
